As many of you may know, Jordan and I were married December 22, 2009! And what a wonderful wedding it was. Over the past year and a half we have grown leaps and bounds. Something some may consider odd is our Anniversary Celebrations. You see, December is a very busy month with Christmas and New Year's Eve; however, on top of holidays my birthday is on December 19th. We decided when we got married we'd probably want to take get-aways after we had kids (which is to begin this October!) and with my birthday, our anniversary, and Christmas all in the SAME week we thought it might be wise to always celebrate it on June 22nd. And that's exactly what we've done!
Last year I made a replica of our wedding cake...and it tasted delicious.
Basically, I made a spruced up white cake with berry filling (also made from scratch). Then I decorated it...but not like our wedding cake.
This year I made a decision, I'm planning on always making some tasty delight that's a favorite or a new, yummy recipe. This year to celebrate 2 wonderful years, I made Jordan's favorite dessert - cheesecake. I was a bit concerned on how it'd turn out because I'd never made one before, but it was a success!
We topped it with the classic: strawberries and whipped cream.
I LOVE to bake! I look forward to trying and discovering many new recipes in the future. And I have found baking our dessert for our anniversary has added something special and unique to the celebration. It's a new tradition I look forward to continuing!
That looks like a good cake!
