30 Weeks and Still Growing

Sometimes I feel like a container of Pringles...you know, "once you pop the fun don't stop!"  Now, I haven't literally popped or anything, but each week the baby and I just keep growing and growing.  And that ad just kinda fits with how I feel right now.

(PS This photo is at 30 1/2 weeks)

The pregnancy is progressing well.  Sometimes fatigue hits me all of a sudden and I am ready for bed mid-day.  And the past couple days brought on a bout of heartburn, which seems to be subsiding again (YAY).  Some new things we've experienced this week are movement styles.  Our little guy is as active as ever.  For the first time his squirming actually made my tummy move!  Yes, my tummy.  I was sitting, felt a kick, looked down, felt a strong kick, and saw a distinctive wave cross my stomach.  It was a weird-amazing experience.  Other than that, the only change has been my belly.  It keeps getting bigger with baby and I remain all smiles with the start of our third trimester :)  I am a joyous mom-to-be!

My most recent baby-project has been burp cloths.  A friend of mine is having a shower this weekend and I couldn't think of anything to make!  My mind was a blank.  So I started Googling baby projects and fell in love with the idea of creating cute baby burp cloths.

I made some pink themed (for my friend and as back up future gifts on the go)

and some of them blue.  There are a few boy ones for our little guy to get all messy and then the extras will also go as gifts for some later date.

Jordan made me laugh yesterday when he got home.  I was showing him the burp cloths and he says, "those are way too cute to use for burp cloths!  They'll get all gross."  Hahaha, I loved it!

With these new burp cloths and the third trimester slipping by a week at a time, I feel like things are going great.  Oh yes, and (random side note) Jordan is my hero because he killed 2 spiders for me in the past 2 days!!!  Lucky me - healthy baby coming soon and an amazing husband that I love lots and lots!

  2. Wow, you are a busy little crafter!! Did you make the burp cloths out of cloth diapers? Very cute. You look adorable and it sounds like all is well! Have you decided on a name or are you waiting to see what the baby looks like to decide? Oh, have you done the 3-D/4-D ultrasound? The doctor wanted Erin to have one done at the hospital, but she doesn't know if she wants to. It is covered by insurance, and I heard it is really cool. You can really see what the baby looks like in great detail. She is worried about the possibility of negative effects on the baby of having too many sonograms.
Anyway, take it easy. I love you! So glad you are having a happy and healthy pregnancy!

  5. Yeah, I just googled "cloth diaper burp cloth" and a couple blogs and websites came up with ideas. Most were made with ribbon and the edging on all is just quilt binding. But my favorite are the ones that have a piece of flannel and then I put quilt binding to frame it. That one I came up with :)
