Crafty Endeavors

This blog is a kind of a shout out to my sister-in-law, Karin Hochstrasser.  She is by far one of the most creative and artistically talented people I know!  I love looking at her blog and seeing all the new things she's been doing.  After viewing some of her creative cards (a result of taking a couple sick days) I decided that instead of dreaming about being crafty...I should put my hands into action.  And I have taken to and found a new love in scrapbooking cards!  Chances are we won't need to buy cards for a while after all the hobby time I've been having.

Above is a picture of a set of cards I made for a Relief Society Activity.  The theme of the activity was "Sisters in Service" and we were asked to bring a service to exchange.

These were some "thank you" cards that I made just for fun.  Jordan got me a HUGE package of scrapbooking paper for my last birthday.  While flipping through the pages I just felt like putting this combination together.

My Visiting Teaching Companion, a most amazing friend, is getting ready to welcome her first baby girl into the world.  I asked her if it would be alright if I throw her a shower.  Of course, she was thrilled and so was I.  Since I've been on a sort of scrapbooking binge I decided to scrapbook the invites.
Not too complicated, but cute.

I hate to see paper go to waste...especially color coordinated sets.  So as my latest undertaking I scrapbooks a variety of card with the baby-shower invite left-overs.  I made these while Jordan and I watched the BYU basketball game against TCU.

So, while Jordan enjoys his sports...I enjoy scrapbooking and we both end up having a great time together.

  2. Aw, these are so cute. They have a big card exchange group in my ward, but I just don't think I can do it. I've been digital scrapbooking, but that's the extent of my creativity :) I like the shower ones. They're awesome!

  3. Yay! I love making cards! Isn't it so fun? And much cheaper than buying cards from the grocery store. I especially like the yellow/green/blue set you made. Super cute!

  4. Thanks everyone! And, yes Courtney, they sure do save money! Tara, if you'd like to participate in your ward exchange I give you permission to steal my ideas/designs...all you'll need to do is get 3 pieces of paper to work out a color scheme :P hehe. PS Tara I love the pics of your adorable baby! She's getting sooooo big!!!
