Toy Story 3

Here is my official review. We went to see it in 3-D this last Saturday evening. First off, a word about 3-D. I really don't think it made it that much of an improvement. Pixar doesn't really do the popping out at you from the screen thing (which is good, cause you're head would hurt more after two hours of that). I just don't think it's worth the extra $2.50 per ticket. My head still hurt a little, and it still looks really cool in 2-D. Plus, the story doesn't change one bit.

I'm giving Toy Story 3 4 ½ stars. It started out really great with a fun look into the imagination of Andy playing with his toys—and what this looks like in his mind. There were a lot of good laughs throughout the film. The visuals (although I downplayed those a little bit, because I think they would be great in 2-D also) were amazing. The ending was really good too. Both the climax and then the very last part. Darn Pixar, who else can make my eyes water over toys that are animated!

I took off half a star for a few small things. In a few places the story felt way to similar to the previous two films. Also, they introduced a lot of promising characters, but probably too many. You hardly got to see any of the little girl's (Bonnie) toys. But overall it was another great film from Pixar.

  1. I agree--great movie! On this one we can agree, Jordan. Actually, I'd say it ranks up there with the 1st one and just above the 2nd. Pixar's back!--after a few years of some sub-par films:)
